Browse, face match, and AI review on Wakif

Understand the different search paths and check which are currently available.

AI-assisted

Wakif has three distinct search paths in its design: ordinary browsing, face matching, and AI review. They use different processes and should not be described as interchangeable ways to confirm identity. Availability can vary with the running configuration.

Browse

Browsing uses structured report information and human review. You select relevant filters and inspect the available records yourself. It does not require an AI model to decide which person you are seeing.

The results are still limited by report coverage, publication status, location scope, and the filters used.

Face match and AI review

Face matching ranks candidates using representations derived from photographs. AI review asks a vision-capable service to review a small filtered candidate set. These are different technical processes, and both can produce errors or miss relevant records.

The site can show a feature as unavailable when its required service is not enabled. That state means the feature cannot run, not that it searched successfully and found nobody.

  • Check current availability in the interface.
  • Use an authorized, faithful query photograph.
  • Review context as well as appearance.
  • Treat output as possible matches only.

Consider processing choices

AI review can involve sending photographs to an external inference provider. Read the relevant service information before using sensitive material, and do not assume all processing stays on your device.

If an automated mode is unavailable, ordinary browsing may still be useful. Keep the official case process active regardless of which tool you use. No mode supplies a guaranteed match or a substitute for appropriate verification.
